An overbearing training officer (Police Officer III), who is later promoted to Sergeant. He is assigned Chen as a rookie and gives her a hard time. He used to be a Marine squad leader who served in Iraq and Afghanistan before joining the LAPD. He was initially married to a fellow cop named Isabel, but her drug addiction eventually caused their marriage to fall apart. Later in the first season, he breaks off his relationship with Isabel entirely after she gets clean; he starts dating social services agent Rachel Hall in the second season after losing a bet to Chen.[1] In a relationship with Lucy Chen.
